General Tips for International Travel

• Make a photocopy of your passport and COVID vaccine card (and upload a copy to the cloud, just in case).

• Download WhatsApp so we can easily communicate during the retreat. This allows you to use WiFi to send text messages, rather than relying on roaming.

• Set a travel alert for your debit and credit cards, if necessary.

• Prepare payment methods. This retreat is all-inclusive, but if you want to venture out and do your own thing, you may want to bring Costa Rican colones (CRC) to get around more easily. Many places accept USD, but you should plan to bring smaller bills ($20 and under). Rather than bringing your entire wallet, bring one or two credit cards, a debit card, and any cash you need for the day.

• If you need transportation to venture out during downtime, Uber is available. We can also arrange for taxi drivers.

• Download the Google Translate app if you are planning to venture out on your own and don’t speak Spanish. You can pre-download Spanish for easier offline translation.

What should we pack?

• Comfy, closed-toed shoes to explore the rainforest reserve

• Comfortable clothes for yoga (mats will be provided)

• A bathing suit (or two!)

• Sunscreen, aloe, and insect repellent to take care of your skin

• Dramamine (if you get motion sickness), charcoal tablets, and any medications you need

• Lingerie and other outfits for your partnered boudoir shoot and any kink accessories you may want to use (Annika will bring some accessories, too)

• A dressier outfit for our fancier dinner at the venue (optional)

• Toys, reading material, or any other gifts from your goodie bag (optional)

Can we schedule a private consultation with Cassandra?

Absolutely! We understand that some of you might want to dive in deeper and connect even further with your partners during this retreat, which is exactly why Cassandra will offer up to 5 private consultations (these can be done solo or with your partner). Consult fees are listed below:

• Solo consultations (1 hour): $70

• Couples consultations (90 minutes): $120

• Triad consultations (2 hours): $180

You can add this on to your itinerary until February 1, 2023 by paying the session fee here. Once your session fee is paid, Cassandra will reach out with some getting-to-know-you questions and we’ll update your personalized itinerary.

What about hair and makeup for my boudoir session?

You can choose to have professional hair and makeup added to your boudoir experience for an additional fee. Please let us know by February 1st, 2023 if you would like to add this service. We will not be able to accommodate requests after February 1st.

If you are doing hair and makeup yourself, Annika suggests going heavier with the eye makeup to ensure features are not lost on camera. Also, tousled, less-structured hair works best for pictures, Annika does not suggest updos or other styles that would limit posing.

Can we purchase additional boudoir images from our shoot?

Of course! Annika will send you a gallery after the retreat with 10 downloadable images. If you would like to see more images from your session, you will have to pay a small deposit (which will be applied to anything ordered) and you’ll get access to view 10-15 more images.

You will also have the option to get images printed in various formats after the retreat! Options include wall art, print boxes, and small albums. All retreat attendees will receive special discounts on these products.

Schedule

Note: Each set of partners will have their own personalized schedule, so consider this a baseline guide. You will receive your schedule via email before the retreat, and in hardcopy when you arrive.

Wednesday, February 22nd - Arrive at San Jose Airport (SJO) by 2pm. The complimentary group shuttle is scheduled to take you from the airport to the venue at 3pm.

Once at the venue, you will have time to get situated in your suites. Then, we’ll have a welcome dinner at the venue prepared by the in-house chef.

Thursday, February 23rd - We’ll start the day with Rediscovering the Pleasure in your Sex Life and Partnership Workshop led by Cassandra. After the workshop, we will venture out to a private rainforest reserve. We will return to the venue in the early evening, where massage therapists will give you and your boo a relaxing, hour-long Swedish massage. (Please note due to how many couples will be attending, half of the retreat attendees will be able to get a massage on the 23rd. Those not getting a massage can enjoy more pool/relaxation time and will get a massage on the 24th). After the massages, dinner will be held at the venue.

Friday, February 24th - The day will start with yoga by the pool, followed by breakfast. Then three couples will have their boudoir sessions in their room. Those not being photographed this day can enjoy pool time, private consultations with Cassandra, massages, or go on an excursion of their choosing (note: additional excursions, private consults, and additional spa treatments are not included in your fee). Dinner at the venue. After dinner, we will have wine out by the pool and Cassandra will lead us into the second workshop about Sexual Communication.

Saturday, February 25th - The day will start with yoga by the pool, followed by breakfast. The remaining three couples will have their couples boudoir session in their room. Those not being photographed this day can enjoy pool time, private consultations with Cassandra, massages, or go on an excursion of their choosing (note: additional excursions, private consults, and additional spa treatments are not included in your fee). A fancier meal will be served for dinner (dressing up is encouraged but totally optional!).

Sunday, February 26th - Breakfast at the venue, followed by Cassandra leading us into our third workshop, all about Dirty Talk. In the afternoon, we will head out onto a catamaran. Once back at the venue, we’ll enjoy one last dinner together.

Monday, February 27th - Breakfast at the venue, followed by packing and checking out of the venue by 10am. Transport to San Jose Airport will leave the venue at 10am.

Please send us your flight information as soon as possible so we can coordinate travel to and from the airport.
